The mission of the HSMC is to provide shelter, medical care and comfort to stray and surrendered dogs and cats while working to secure them appropriate homes. To educate the public about responsible pet ownership and the need for spaying and neutering to prevent overpopulation.

The HSMC envisions a community where companion animals are all well cared for, respected and free from abuse and neglect, and the numbers of unwanted companion animals are reduced through spay and neuter programs. We envision a day when our organization’s services, with regards to stray or other unwanted pets, are no longer needed
